Flemish geographer, cartographer, engraver, antiques dealer and bookseller Abraham Ortelius (1527-1598) was initially inspired and influenced by Mercator and in 1570 published a 70-map Atlas called Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (Theater of The World), called the first modern atlas. The map/chart was issued and the number of languages, this one in Latin. Several cartouches.
