The Council of Trent was the 19th Ecumenical Council which began in 1545 and continued on with numerous sessions until 1563. Charles V [1550-1558] sent Francisco de Vargas to the Council. Vargas later became the Spanish Ambassador to Venice.
William Trumbull [died 1636] was a British diplomat who secured the correspondence of Vargas at the Council of Trente which was translated into French by Michel Le Vassor).
