Preface by the author Amelia Ann Blanford (June 7, 1831 - April 15, 1892), an English novelist, traveler and amateur Egyptologist. Chapters gathered here are drawn from courses of lectures on ancient Egyptian subjects she delivered in the U.S., with plentiful additions and notes.
