A note on this copy: Evans and Sabin's collate pp. 52. ESTC collates 52, [2], 8. This copy does not have [2], 8 mentioned in the ESTC. (ESTC W37640) (Evans, 11161) (Sabin, 1844). Good. Item #80191

Pamphlet bears a previous owner's inscription to top right of the cover, with period-abbreviated signature of Thomas Hubbard, Though at least one line has been trimmed (leaving only a remnant of that line), two brief lines remain which to the best of this cataloguer's ability, seem to read: "...his most humble...(prob. "servant"), Tho. Hubbard. It is not unreasonable to posit that at this funeral for Edward Holyoke, who had served as President of Harvard College for 32 years, that this Thomas Hubbard is one and the same as Thomas Hubbard (1702–1773), Boston merchant, speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives between the years 1750 and 1759, Deacon of The Old South Church, justice of the peace, Commissary General of the Province of the Massachusetts Bay, and Treasurer of Harvard from 1752 to 1773..."
