Rebound with hand-marbled paper over calf spine and corners, with contrasting maroon leather spine label ("A New Family Herbal -- Bewick") and gilt spine titles and decorations. Lacks original endpapers, but otherwise complete with half-title, title, etc. Each entry includes an illustrations "drawn from nature, by Henderson, and engraved on wood, by Thomas Bewick." Light age-tanning throughout, and occasional foxing throughout textblock, but none to obscure. Occasional light dampstains. 1" x 3/4" inch chip missing from bottom corner of half-title page. Table of Contents includes English Name, Latin Name, Class, Order and Page Number. 904 pp.
