Young Adult vampire novel by the (then-23 year-old) extraordinarily gifted Jane Gaskell, set among Englands "Mod" set in the 1960's, generally considered brilliant and before-its-time, and said to have influenced a number of other authors of this genre, who have since become far better known. Liner notes from Harper's Bazaar read: "A book not to give your aunt". Gaskell wrote her first novel, Strange Evil, when she was 14 years old.
